Kim Kardashian has finally opened up about what led to the fallout between her and former close friend Larsa Pippen. Their friendship cooled off around 2022, and Pippen has suggested that tensions involving Kim and her then-husband Kanye West contributed to their estrangement.
Speaking on her sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast, Khloe in Wonderland, Kim acknowledged much of what Pippen has said. She explained that both women were navigating major life changes when they drifted apart.
“I love Larsa,” Kim said, noting her affection for Pippen and her children. She described the period as a transition for both of them — with Pippen going through a divorce while Kim and Kanye were experiencing problems. Kim added that Pippen’s relocation to Miami after finalizing her divorce from NBA star Scottie Pippen added another layer of distance. Still, Kim emphasized their shared history and that their children attend the same school, saying they’ll always have many memories and a lot of love between them.
Pippen had long been seen as an ally of the Kar-Jenner circle. She played a role in exposing the Jordyn Woods and Tristan Thompson incident to the family — informing Kourtney that something inappropriate had occurred between Woods, a former close friend of Kylie Jenner, and Thompson, who was Khloe’s boyfriend and the father of her child at the time.
In a 2019 appearance on Jason Lee’s podcast Hollywood Unlocked [UNCENSORED], Pippen discussed the episode, which had first been reported by HollywoodUnlocked.com earlier that year. Lee said he contacted Pippen to alert her before releasing the initial story that Woods and Thompson had hooked up at a party; Pippen then relayed the information to Kourtney. According to Pippen, Kourtney didn’t react with surprise.
Pippen recounted calling Kim, who reportedly didn’t believe the news at first, insisting it couldn’t be true. They then contacted Kourtney, who reacted differently — she said she believed it. When asked what made Kourtney convinced, Pippen pointed to other occasions when Woods and Thompson had been in the same room together and the atmosphere had felt off, with Kourtney present for those moments.
