The Becker Chamber of Commerce held its 14th annual golf mixer Thursday at Pebble Creek.  Sixty golfers participated in a 9-hole scramble format on a partly cloudy afternoon.
Teams had the opportunity to help improve their scores by purchasing mulligans and footsticks. Raffle tickets were also available for sale for many prizes presented at an outdoor banquet later in the evening.
A buffet dinner provided by T’s Restaurant was served on the lawn outside the clubhouse after the round was complete.  Dinner included hamburger/chicken sandwiches with all the fixin’s, salads, desserts and beverages.
Lynette Brannan of LB Productions welcomed all the guests as chair of the event. Brannan is also a Becker Chamber board member.
Julie Brandt, president of the Chamber, thanked everyone for coming and  thanked the co-sponsors of the event, Grand Casino and Liberty Paper. Hole sponsorships included the following: Great River Spine & Sport, Direct Processing Solutions, Windstream Communications, Becker Furniture World, New River Medical and XCel-Sherco plant.
The Hole-in-One contests were sponsored by Sherburne State Bank ($10,000) and Pebble Creek ($500), but unfortunately, nobody aced the holes. Other sponsors included: Huse Orthodontics (Contest Hole), NIX Bar & Grill (cart sponsor), CentraCare Clinic & CentraCare Pharmacy (water bottle sponsorship) and Direct Processing Solutions/Henry Embroidery (towel sponsorship).
Brandt and Brannan said they were grateful to all the area businesses that donated prizes for the event, including raffle prizes that were awarded throughout the evening. The volunteers that helped with registration and throughout the day were also acknowledged.
“A big thank you to Lynette (Brannan) for all of her work in coordinating this event,” said Brandt.
